Tamara & David - Sept. 5th, 2009
Tamara and I had been together for just over five years, when I departed for a seven month tour in Afghanistan. During this time apart I realized how important Tamara was to me. After a four month separation, I met Tamara during my leave, and we departed on a 16-day Caribbean cruise. I had found the perfect ring but was still not sure how I was going to “pop the question” in the perfect way. I was finding it difficult to stop myself from just asking but I knew that I wanted to make that moment special. My opportunity came on the second night of the cruise. The night of the Captain’s dinner, we were having a cocktail before entering the dining room and this is when I decided to make my move. Tamara always wore a Claddagh ring on one of her fingers, so I asked her if I could see it. While Tamara looked away, I pulled out the diamond ring and switched it, then suggested that perhaps that one was better suited to match her outfit. When she first looked down she seemed unsure of what exactly was going on and that’s when I asked her to marry me, which of course she answered yes.
We met with RJ at Moments Photography after having received several recommendations about his work. We wanted a laid back, simple, traditional experience when it came to the photography for our wedding. Looking over his portfolio we knew that he and his wife were exactly what we were looking for. RJ indeed delivered, he and his wife did an excellent job putting us at ease and getting the perfect shots from our wedding day.
