Though they grew up together in the same church, Manoli and Jacqueline’s romantic relationship didn’t begin until they were in their twenties, and living in different countries. With Skype to bridge the gap between Alberta and Scotland, they survived long distance just long enough to both move home to Montreal. Two years later, Manoli took an unsuspecting Jacqueline to McGill’s Birks Chapel, where he knew she had dreamt of getting married. He walked her down the aisle, got down on one knee and pulled out a sparkling oval solitaire.

The following summer, on July 9th, 2011, Jacqueline and Manoli said their vows in the the very same chapel. Wanting their wedding to be personal and special, they asked Manoli’s father to officiate the ceremony, Jacqueline’s sisters to sing and Manoli’s siblings to sign as witnesses. After making it official, the bride and groom joined their family and friends at the elegant Atwater Club. The guests joined in traditional Greek and Scottish dances as two families were joined together in celebration.
